My name is Alexandra, and I have a BS in Chemical Engineering with a Biomolecular Engineering concentration. I am a published researcher and have confidence in helping others conquer multiple subjects and assignments. While in college, I have tutored classmates, as well as taught children starting at the age of five STEAM topics through fun/practical projects and examples.

I get to know the person I am tutoring so with their strengths and weaknesses, we together can help them succeed. Everyone has a different learning style, so let's take advantage of that. If that means we need to play basketball to help learn multiplication, let's do it! This way, they can learn the material, leave the lesson feeling confident and able to apply what they have learned to similar problems. No child or adult is hopeless and with the will, they can learn and master any lesson.

With patience, practice, and persistence, I will take a kid struggling in math to being able to master the subject. I have scored over 95% on all my high school mathematics exams, as well as excelled in my university math classes with and without using a coded language such as Matlab. Technology is a great asset and can help solve complex problems quickly, however, I encourage and push students I tutor to not be afraid of any math problem so their strong foundation in understanding the material will allow them to solve complex problems with accuracy and time efficiency. I also help with test anxiety students in mathematics and teach them skills and tricks to be able to get the math section done with spare time to check their work.

I have excelled in Material Balance; in labs in classes within Biology, Chemistry, and Engineering labs; as well in advanced classes such as Thermodynamics and Separations. I not only listen and make sure I know where and what you are struggling with, but also get to know my student's learning style, so together we can get you to a better level of understanding. These subjects are challenging and overwhelming and I am glad to bre

Algebra 1

Algebra is the foundation to excel in other math subjects such as Calculus and differential equations. I have tutored and helped students excel in Algebra at the Middle School, High School and College level. I am able to help with Algebra with different program languages such as Matlab.
Biology

Biology

During my degree program, I had to take 6 college-level biology classes, ranging from freshman classes to senior classes. I also have studied genetics and worked in a biology lab. I also made a 4 on the AP biology exam.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I have a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with a Biomolecular Engineering Concentration from a Tier 1 Research College. I also have 4+ years of research and work experience as well as publications that can be found on Google. I am also proficient in Aspen, HYSYS, and Matlab.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I excelled in AP chemistry in high school. Have done well in analytical chemistry and organic chemistry. Have worked in a lab in a college-level chemistry department. I have helped students improve their class grade, test scores and excel on standardized tests.
Common Core

Common Core

I currently work with two elementary school students where I was exposed to common core math in the format desired for the current curriculum. I have helped both of these students go from failing to being in the top of the class. I am very fluent and comfortable teaching math in any format.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

While instructing children, its important to play to their strengths a weaknesses. I make learning a game with prizes for each answer correct. Positive motivation and a lot of practice problems will help kids succeed.
Genetics

Genetics

As part of my major and concentration, I was required to take advanced genetics and multiple graduate level microbiology and BCMB courses. I am very comfortable with both the classroom and laboratory teaching in genetics.
Geometry

Geometry

Took this class in high school. Earned an A. Used these concepts in my degree. Have tutored middle and high school students on this subject before.

Knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated tutor

Alexandra is an amazing tutor! She explains the material patiently and in a way that I can understand. She is also very dedicated and has helped me out with emergency last minute sessions at times such as 1 am and 7 am. If you need help with chemical engineering classes, I highly recommend her.

Clear Explanations and Meaningful Support

Alexandra is an outstanding and versatile tutor. My teenager has been working with her throughout the year, and she has provided support across various subjects, including Biology and Algebra. He genuinely enjoys his sessions with her, as she explains concepts clearly and is easy to understand. I particularly appreciate the affirmations she gives him, which boost his confidence, as well as the additional resources she shares after each session to help reinforce areas where he needs extra support. Since my son is a visual learner, her tutoring style has been especially effective for him. Overall, we've had a very positive experience with Alexandra and are grateful for the impact she’s had on his academic progress.

Great tutor!

She always being patient with my son during the class helps him solve the problem step-by-step and make it easier to understand. She’s also very flexible. I hired her to be bio tutor, but when my son has problems with math, she doesn’t have problems to change the subject. Overall great tutor, highly recommended!
