Hi,
My name is Evan and I have spend the last 17 years working within the educational realm. I hold a bachelors degree in Mathematics as well as a Single Subject Teaching Credential, both of which were obtained from the California State University of Fresno. I have tutored math since my freshmen year in high school and professionally as a teacher and tutor for 17 years and counting.
Since college, I have spent my time observing various environments of education around the world, something I find quite interesting. In my early years as an educator I substituted for several school districts in California including special education, court schools, adult education, and general education classes. Furthermore, I have held 7 teaching positions as a credentialed teacher; first as a small group instructor with Options for Youth Charter of Pasadena and then abroad in Dubai, U.A.E., Abu Dhabi Tech school; Nile Valley School in Khartoum, Sudan; Chiangrai International School, Chiangrai, Thailand; Maya School, Guatemala City, Guatemala; Del Mar Academy, Nosara, Costa Rica. These opportunities have given me great insight and experience in helping a broad range of students and a chance to work with different curriculum.
As a math teacher, I find it especially important to help individuals grow as students and to help them value their own education along with learning math topics and theory. Yes, THEORY, I believe theory is vital to math education and plays a huge role in each students proficiency and greater understanding. Its not just about formulas and facts, theory along with great applications make the math meaningful! My overall goal as the math teacher is to help students communicate each math topic effectively and efficiently.
Thanks for reading my profile. I’m always open to your questions, as you can message me about prospective tutoring sessions. Regards.
