A combination of interventions and teaching strategies to best meet your goals include special education, music therapy, developmental music therapy, guided imagery (including techniques that draw from Jung, Erickson, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, Transpersonal Psychology, Regression Therapy, NLP, & hypnotherapy ) and DBT skills, depending on your needs.
I have held special ed teaching credentials but they are now lapsed. In addition to working in the field of music therapy for over 35 years as a Board Certified Music Therapist, I also have 12 years experience working as a clinical therapist for youth in a program teaching coping skills (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)and using imagery am appreciated and known for helping people heal emotional wounds and overcome trauma.
Music therapy teaches in success oriented steps, reaching a different part of the brain, and making learning fun and easier to remember
