Hi there, I'm Amy! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English from a small liberal arts college in Indiana where I served as journalist and copy editor for the school newspaper. My passion for the English language has stayed with me from elementary school through adulthood. I've been able to make use of my English skills and degree in myriad professional settings, and I'm grateful for some amazing professors who encouraged me to continue writing throughout my life.
In college, I tutored my peers one-on-one through the school's tutoring center. During the summers, I worked as a summer school teacher at a private Montessori school with children aged 3-6 years. After graduation, I joined the school full time as a Montessori teacher in the toddler classroom (ages 18-36 months). The Montessori education system tends to be a great landing place for students who find traditional classroom settings to be a struggle; my experience in a Montessori school allowed me to work closely with those students who face learning challenges.
At my core, I am a helper. I am ready and eager to help students succeed in my areas of expertise. The satisfaction of finally "getting" school assignments is a sweet feeling that I want to help others experience. I am easily reachable and provide quick responses to my students (and their parents). Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions or to get started with a lesson. I look forward to working together!
