I'm Kandee, a Colorado-based educator with 18 years of classroom experience teaching English Language Arts, Health, and Physical Education to students from elementary through high school age. I hold a Master's degree in Physical Education and Health and dual state teaching licensure in Minnesota and Colorado, so I've spent nearly two decades designing lessons that actually make sense to kids and meet them where they are.
My teaching style is built around individualized attention. As a longtime cross-country and track coach, I learned to build performance plans around each student's specific strengths and struggles rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, and I bring that same mindset into tutoring. I break down concepts into clear steps, check for understanding often, and adjust my approach on the spot when something isn't clicking. I'm especially comfortable working with students who need extra encouragement or who've struggled with confidence in a subject.
Outside the classroom, I spent ten years running a wellness and family education practice, where I regularly worked one-on-one with people of all ages and communicated with parents about their child's progress and needs. I'm patient, organized, and genuinely enjoy watching a student go from frustrated to confident. I'd love the opportunity to work with your student and help them feel supported and successful.
