Hey there! My name is Brooke, and I'm a recent college graduate currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University. In undergrad, I was a student-athlete that majored in Political Science with a minor in English, graduating with a 3.65 cumulative GPA. Outside of the classroom, I made a point of supplementing my education with hands-on experience; some of my favorite memories in recent years have come from interning in the political spectrum on a local and national level, as well as undertaking positions in written/digital communications.

While I've had a TON of fun teaching swim lessons, I haven't had the opportunity to transfer those tutoring skills to the academic world. However, in my coaching experience I've loved being able to help instill the same joy a good teacher would in young minds, ultimately providing both an educational and enjoyable experience. I understand that each student is unique, and when it comes to teaching, a one-size-fits-all approach will never yield the best results. I enjoy figuring out how each student learns best, and creating an educational plan that allows each student to reach well-earned success.

Honestly, I am the biggest political nerd ever! I adore political science, and in my free time can be found reading memoirs of politicians or the newest edition of a research journal. One of the best parts about political science is that it is not a discussion of partisan opinion, rather a scientific analysis of how the government and political parties operate. Being able to approach government from an objective standpoint is critical for students to learn how democracy works, and my training has prepared me for just that. Finally, I am a huge fan of finding humor in politics- to be honest, it's hard not to! Incorporating humor (when applicable) and real-time examples is key to grasping subject matter, and I love to be able to do both when discussing government.
