Duo Masters in Business and Teaching English as a Second Language

A retired, former CEO, CFO, teacher and international public speaker, I am currently a speaking rater for TOEFL and TOEIC testing programs with Educational Testing Systems (ETS). I have a duo Masters in Business and Teaching English as a Second Language, and served as a Teaching assistant in the Program in Intensive English at Northern Arizona University and at North Park University, in Chicago. I prefer teaching adults who are seeking comfort in using the English language especially in academic or business situations. I also enjoy prepping future TOEFL (for academic certification) or TOEIC (for job certification) test takers.

I customize tutoring sessions to meet the goals and objectives of the student, In particular, during each session, I usually add insight to cultural linguistic differences, local expressions and speaking techniques to assure clear communication and comprehensibility. I have tutored in particular Asian, Arabic, Latin and African American adults who are seeking a career or education in the United States.

Besides my duo MBA and Masters in TESOL, I have an associates degree in English Literature, and served as an international spokesperson for integrated Healthcare systems and communication. I am currently a speaking rater for the TOEFL and TOEIC tests, and a writing rater for the revised SAT which keeps my listening, observation and technical skills acute along with the continuing awareness of how English is evolving as a Global Language.

On our initial phone call we will discuss your goals, expectations and a mutually agreeable time and place to meet. Depending on the extent of your requirements, I will also offer a free introductory session where we will meet and create an initial lesson plan and schedule, to meet your objectives, and determine the proper materials to begin.
