Bio

My love for teaching comes from helping others who have difficulties with mathematical concepts! I believe if you invest your time to learn, you can learn anything! I have taught math courses for the past 25+ years, both in the classroom and online. I have taught classes ranging from Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus as well as Test Prep. The most successful students are the ones that are persistent and stay the course as well as are willing to be open to working through their difficulties.

I am efficient with communications, feedback and guidance. I prefer to help students step by step in their learning process. I offer more than "how" to solve problems, I will also explain the "why". I am accountable, responsible and patient with the time we will have together and will be efficient with responses. I look forward to helping you with your math difficulties.

I have taught Algebra I and Honors Algebra I at both the 8th grade and 9th grade level. My qualifications in these subject areas are unique due to the fact that I teach math classes above and below the Algebra 1 level. I feel confident in helping students where they are and where they need to go.

I feel confident in helping students with elementary math in where they are and where they need to go. I have good insight into what are the basic skills they will need as I have taught math classes at higher levels than elementary math, so I know the skills and math sense they will need.

I have worked with test prep, especially in math in helping students meet their goals. Since my experience is both in teaching math classes, tutoring and test prep, this is a good combination in helping with test prep accommodations.

Geometry

Geometry is such a unique math for many students. Many are used to Algebra being linear and then the topics of Geometry are spatial. I have taught classes above and below these levels of classes. So I feel confident in helping students with the concepts and skills necessary to succeed in Geometry.
GRE

GRE

Not only have I personally prepped and passed the GRE for my needs, I have also worked with test prep, especially in math in helping students meet their goals. Since my experience is both in teaching math classes, tutoring and test prep, this is a good combination in helping with test prep accommodations.
Prealgebra

I have taught PreAlgebra, Algebra 1 and Honors Algebra I at both the Junior High and High School levels. Precalculus

Precalculus

In Precalculus you are able to combine previously learned math concepts and apply them to a new level preparing for Calculus. I find that many students enjoy Precalculus because of the different degree a "math challenge" then what they are accustomed to. I have taught math classes at various levels leading up to Calculus, so Precalculus I find is very intriguing for students. I have solid experience in teaching the concepts and skills that are needed to be successful.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is my favorite math subject! I enjoy how you are able to combine previous math learned and see how its usage applies to Trigonometry. I find that many students over the years enjoy the "when are we going to ever use this stuff" come alive in Trig. I have taught math classes at levels below Trig. and above. So I know the concepts and skills needed to be successful.
