I'm Asaf! I hold a BA degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Ben Gurion University and an MA degree in Arabic Studies from Bar Ilan University, both located in Israel. During my senior year as an undergrads student, I had an extremely charismatic and influential Modern Standard (Fusha) Arabic teacher who boosted my passion for the Arabic language and made me realize that this is the path that I am willing to pursue. As a result, I immediately enrolled to Graduate School to obtain my Master's Degree in this language.
As for my teaching experience, during my senior year, I gave private lessons, as part of the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty, to Student with difficulties in subjects such as Introduction to Islam and Arabic Grammar. In addition, at the same time, I gave private lessons in Spoken Arabic. Additionally, while working as a geopolitical analyst, I taught the Arabic alphabet and very basic grammar to employees in my former company. Furthermore, one of the most favorite aspects of my job was mentoring and briefing employees about a variety of topics concerning the Middle East and North Africa.
Overall, my love for mentoring and my patience make a good tutor. Moreover, likely due to my work experience as an analyst, as well as being a manager and a mentor, I can effectively understand the logical and strain of thought of the person that guide/mentor and assist him to overcome challenges related to the logic gap between "thinking" in Arabic and "thinking" in English. More specifically, aside from my aforementioned tutoring experience and my MA degree in Arabic Studies, as part of my former job, I had frequently translated texts from Arabic to English, which aided me to further understand how to "pitch" an Arabic text/way of thinking to English speakers.
Finally, as for Hebrew, while do not have formal teaching experience in this language, the fact that I am a native Hebrew speaker and that I made both my degrees in that language likely make me qualified to teach it.
