Hello! I am Armando, an encouraging and patient tutor with a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Adler University, a Master of Arts in Military Psychology from Adler University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. My education included extensive work in psychology, leadership, organizational behavior, qualitative research, academic writing, and APA style. My doctoral dissertation involved conducting and analyzing interviews with military-veteran entrepreneurs, giving me substantial experience with research design, scholarly sources, thematic analysis, and long-form academic writing.
My teaching experience includes working one-on-one with school-aged children as a Registered Behavior Technician and mentoring adults through volunteer and professional-development settings. As a volunteer coordinator, I supported individuals working toward educational, career, and business goals. These experiences taught me how to explain unfamiliar concepts clearly, recognize different learning styles, break complicated material into manageable steps, and provide constructive feedback without making students feel judged or overwhelmed.
I tutor psychology, organizational leadership, organizational behavior, qualitative research, APA formatting, academic writing, and general study skills. During an initial session, I identify the student’s goals, current understanding, learning preferences, and upcoming deadlines. I then use practical examples, guided questions, visual organization, repetition, and knowledge checks to strengthen understanding. My goal is not simply to help students finish an assignment, but to help them understand the material, become more confident, and develop strategies they can use independently.
