Bio

I spent over five years teaching in the military, so I'm no stranger to high-stress environments, adult learners, or the patience it takes to sit with someone who's struggling with a topic. Today I'm a licensed clinical psychologist in solo practice, and have recently taught graduate-level coursework at Purdue University Global and University of Denver— which means I'm on the grading side of the rubric and know exactly what instructors are looking for.

Every student learns differently, and I'm eager to find out what works for you. I'm a visual learner myself — I understand things best when I can see, draw, or do them — but good teaching pulls from every method until the right one clicks. My favorite benchmark is this: when you can explain a topic back to me in your own words, we both know you've got it, and the explaining itself cements it. Ask questions freely, and tell me what's helping and what isn't.
Where I can help:
General, military, and Forensic psychology - undergraduate through graduate level
APA 7 formatting, academic writing, and proofreading — I've written 120+ papers in APA style and proofread just as many.
Graduate school preparation — GRE, applications, personal statements, and interview prep
My background: M.A. and Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University; Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, where my doctoral paper was a treatment protocol for grief and loss among incarcerated men. I've worked as a correctional psychologist, I conduct VA disability evaluations for veterans, and I'm currently completing a postdoctoral M.S. in Clinical Psychopharmacology. I'm also an Air Force veteran.
I've been the student sitting in front of hard material with a deadline, and I've been the instructor reading the paper at the other end. That combination is what I bring to every session.

If you have questions about my experience or how I approach a subject, please don't hesitate to ask.

College Counseling

College Counseling

I have two Master's degrees from Columbia University in Psychological Counseling. I have experience moving through the college application and interviewing process. I have been invited to interview for one Master's level program, and have interviewed for five doctoral level programs - successfully being admitted into three of them. With my combined knowledge related to career counseling and experience with academic interviews, I believe that I can be a great help to those navigating the undergraduate and graduate program application and interviewing process.
Psychology

Psychology

I hold two Master's degrees in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College of Columbia University, and am a graduate of the Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Denver. I have experience working in forensic settings, conducting group and individual counseling, clinical intakes, writing clinical notes and creating treatment plans, and am trained in administering/interpreting psychological tests, conducting competency evaluations, and evaluating client risk and suicidality. My doctoral paper is a written treatment protocol focused on the implementation of a grief and loss process group for incarcerated men. I currently provide psychological services to high security male inmates.
