He first drove the bus and then allowed me to step from backseat to driver's chair to allow hands-on experience. I believe that one learns by doing. Number Crunching some examples is the best way to improve one's understanding of accounting methods. I'm a visual tutor - l like to make use of the whiteboards, Excel, and scrap paper. I like to develop a list of steps for solving the accounting question. My approach is to ask the leading questions to guide the student to the solutions they're seeking.

Taught me more in 3 hours than I have learned in 3 years.
Geoff taught me Excel, Accounting, Finance, and business forecasting all in one session. I am a senior, graduating college in 2 months. Finance has been difficult for me. UNTIL NOW. If you are reading this to determine whether or not Geoff is a good tutor, I will save you time. HE IS. He will get you where you need to be. So stop reading and just book a session with him already. For those naturally inclined skeptics out there, I will tell you this; he came prepared for our tutoring session, having already read through the assignment I needed help on. It saved us so much time. In other words, I wasn't paying Geoff to sit there and try and comprehend what I needed help on. He came with a plan and some awesome points of discussion! Working on the financial statement in Excel was a breeze with his guidance. He showed me tips and tricks, and guided me through the equations necessary. We determined several financial issues this company was facing, and provided solutions. Geoff is understandable and works at a pace conduce to the student. I, for one, really need it spelled out for me when I do not understand something. He did exactly that.

I came to our session not really knowing what I wanted to go over first and he was patient and helped me through many problems that I now have a better understanding of. He explained everything very well and let me ask any questions I had. I'm looking forward to our next sessions!

OK tutor but needs to conduct himself better.
Geoff was a good tutor, however he kept wanting to change the times. It was very frustrating. And while in session he answered his phone and went off to talk for 5 minutes, I thought it was rude and unprofessional to take a call when someone is paying for your time.

Geoff was fantastic to work with. He was extremely patient and took the time to find out what our needs were before starting the process. Geoff is a great tutor; he's very patient and will assist you in your learning in any way he can. If you do not understand something he will either take a different approach in explaining it or try to relate is to real world situations. He has brought supplemental information to our sessions to provide further information on relevant topics. He is also very responsive; if you have additional questions or need clarification in between sessions he responds timely to emails.
