Hello!
My name is Isaac T., and I am an educator with three years of classroom experience, currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) with a focus on Historical Theology. I hold a B.A. in History (Liberal Arts, European emphasis) with a minor in Geography. My academic work and teaching experience have given me a strong foundation in Social Studies, particularly in world history, historical analysis, and critical thinking. In my graduate research, I am studying the role of the Protestant church during the Gilded Age, which has deepened my ability to connect historical themes to broader social and cultural developments. Outside of my academic and professional life, I enjoy reading, hiking, and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes for my wife.
My path in education began as a substitute teacher, followed by work as a paraprofessional, and eventually becoming a full-time classroom teacher. I have taught 6th grade World History and am currently teaching 7th grade History, working with diverse learners and adapting lessons to meet a wide range of needs. In addition to classroom teaching, I have tutored students in piano, math, and writing, though my primary specialty is Social Studies. My tutoring approach is student-centered: I aim to build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and help students develop a deeper understanding of the material rather than simply memorizing facts. I strive to make learning engaging and accessible by connecting content to students’ interests and real-world applications, while also supporting them in developing strong study habits and critical thinking skills.
