I have been teaching French language, literature, and culture to young adults for the last nineteen years. I'm passionate about language learning and have used a more interactive method in both university, community college, and private instruction.
I have also taught literature courses in English at the university level.

Knows how to make the class and learning fun and jumps right into the French which is exactly what I need. Also, sets 'tasks'. She asked me to label things around ma maison en français and I had a lot of fun doing that.

Fun and Informative Lessons
Each week, I look forward to video chatting with Fawzia to strengthen my French. We started lessons about five months ago when I knew virtually no French, and with her help I have been able to progress at a quick rate. At first she taught me basic grammar and vocabulary, and we got to have more and more in depth conversations as time went on. Now, we are able to have conversations and tell stories to each other. It's been wonderful being able to not only understand her when she speaks, but also being able to watch French media without subtitles and tell my own stories/hold up my end of a conversation. Weekly lessons have become even more fun as time has gone on. Even though I'm still learning so much, it feels less and less like French class and more like learning by talking to a fluent friend. Fawzia is patient, informative, and makes weekly lessons something to be enjoyed rather than endured. It speaks to her teaching ability that even though I've been learning French for five months and Chinese for my 23 years of life, I feel like my listening and speaking comprehension for both languages are pretty similar. I look forward to continuing our lessons!

Amazing Teacher/Tutor
Fawzia has made such a difference in my daughter's life! My daughter was failing French II. She hated French. She started seeing Fazia mid-year. Fawzia started at the beginning of the book and patiently went through each chapter with my daughter. They met twice a week until they caught up to where my daughter's class currently was. Then they met once a week to discuss the current coursework. Fawzia was able to teach French in a way that my daughter could easily comprehend. Towards the end of the school year my daughter was even explaining it to her classmates. She went from an F to a B! An added bonus was the connection that Fawzia was able to make with my daughter. They would laugh and actually enjoyed their time together. It was so nice to see my daughter look forward to learning French!
