Hi, I'm Frank! I graduated with my ASN in 2013 and my BSN in 2017. I've been a nurse for 12 years, working 10 of them in ICU nursing.
I'm a Registered Nurse with experience teaching in community college classrooms. My background includes both clinical and lecture teaching over the past 5 years. I pride myself on presenting information in a realistic, down-to-earth, and easy to understand manner. Students in the past have called me relatable, easy to understand, and uses humor effectively to help understand points.
I started teaching undergraduate nursing students in 2020, and have found a real joy and fulfillment in having students understand a lot of the complex and abstract concepts inherent in nursing. I use an interactive format with teaching, assessing where your knowledge is and where the gaps are. I build off of what you know, and help you get to the level you need to succeed. My lectures in class involve a lot of in-person practical application and are lead by the students. In other words, I don't talk at you, I let you guide the lesson! I've worked one on one with students who were in danger of failing classes, and brought them back to passing and mastering subjects they struggled with. I have taught the entire gambit of adult nursing subjects: patho, pharm, med-surg at all levels, complex/critical care, fundamentals, leadership, and community health. I also have coached students on APA format to get the most out of their papers.
I have an excellent reviews from all past and present students, and pride myself on presenting information in a realistic, down-to-earth, and easy to understand manner.
Nursing school is hard, lets cut through the fluff and reduce the stress!
