Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, I bring over 15 years of diverse educational experience and a deep commitment to holistic student development. I hold degrees in Human Services from CSU, a Montessori Early Childhood teaching degree, and a Master’s degree in Social Work, complemented by certifications in School Social Work and Child Welfare. My career began with ten years as a Montessori kindergarten teacher, where I cultivated student-led, experiential learning, and I spent 18 years as a competitive gymnastics coach for youth ages 3 to 18. Recognizing the vital link between emotional well-being and academic success, I transitioned into educational mental health; my background includes roles as a youth treatment counselor, and I currently serve as the Mental Health Provider for Affective Needs students at the high school level. Throughout my career, I have successfully adapted my trauma-informed, strengths-based approach across large classrooms, small groups, intensive one-on-one sessions, and virtual settings. Driven by a passion for service that extends beyond the classroom, I also dedicate my time to community animal welfare and have volunteered internationally at a school community and elephant sanctuary in Africa.
