STEM Tutor with an Engineering Background

Hi! My name is Jordan. I recently graduated from CU Boulder with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and an honors distinction. My tutoring experience spans six years, beginning with volunteer tutoring roles during high school, where I assisted my peers in all core subjects. Since then, I’ve expanded my methods and adapted to different learning styles by tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups. I continued tutoring throughout college by helping underclassmen engineering students in courses that I had already taken. My skills helped students earn higher grades on assignments and exams.

With my educational background, I specialize in STEM subjects and strongly believe that everyone can succeed in these areas with the right approach. I emphasize the importance of learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and tailor my techniques to suit each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive, engaging environment where students look forward to learning, feel empowered to ask questions, and approach challenges with curiosity.

To prepare for sessions, I begin by assessing the material to identify key concepts likely to appear on exams. I research effective teaching strategies that align with the student’s learning style, then build a customized lesson plan with practice problems designed to reinforce core ideas. My personal metric for mastery is ensuring students leave each session confident enough to teach the material themselves.
