Accent reduction, leadership development, and public speaking/presentation

Susan helped me refine my goals during the first session. She customized the class based on my profile and adapted her teaching throughout the sessions. We worked on accent reduction to improve my pronunciation as a non-native American English speaker, focusing on both unconscious and conscious speaking. We practiced various exercises such as role play, conversational speech, and word/sentence repetition. The over-articulation exercise played a key role in improving my accent, helping me feel more comfortable speaking with others, both at work and during social events with friends. We also focused on how to engage with an audience, incorporating energy, body language, and leadership skills. I was able to improve my leadership style and presentation skills using several helpful techniques, such as pausing, making smooth transitions, checking in with the audience, using names, and highlighting key points in my notes.
