I served in the Peace Corps as an english teacher in the Kingdom of Tonga, a small island nation in the South Pacific, where I taught at a primary school, trained teachers, and tutored local high school students five days a week.
I double-majored in History and Anthropology for my undergraduate degree, and wrote my senior honors thesis on the Barbary Wars, a naval war fought by the fledgling United States during the early 1800s.
