Hi! I’m Nadia. I use multimodal tools to enhance learning while making it fun and engaging. I set clear learning goals, track student progress, and provide expedient constructive feedback. I identify learners’ strengths and needs, and I teach learners to use their strengths to strategically meet their own needs.

2021-2025 at the University of Colorado, Boulder, I taught German language acquisition courses exclusively in German, German content courses in English and in German, and other Humanities courses focusing on literature, cinema and film, psychology and psychoanalysis, philosophy, sociological and political subject matter, and historical events. I developed original courses, like "Psychology in German Art, Literature, and Cinema" and "Populist Symbols." I refined courses like "Tracing the Criminal" and "Representing the Holocaust."

2014-2021, at Binghamton University, while I completed my M.A. and my Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, I earned C.1. certification in German from the University of Leipzig’s Herder Institute. I taught German language and English-language Composition courses, emphasizing grammar, syntax, spelling, and organization. For three years, I tutored an elementary-aged child in German.

I completed my B.A. in Psychology and in German Language and Literature at Rutgers University, where I earned the title of an Honors Researcher in Psychology and graduated Cum Laude. I completed coursework that readies me to tutor in the biological and social sciences, in addition to the Humanities.

I meet students where they are, and I teach them how to reach their potential. In English or in German, I excel at helping learners create compelling and well-written, age-appropriate essays that reflect structured and advanced thought via organization and argument development. I motivate students to delve deeper into subject matter, engage in research, and develop skills for independent success.

Bible Studies

I help students explore the Bible with understanding, curiosity, and personal insight. Drawing on my education in Lutheran schools and experience teaching Sunday School in the Assemblies of God ministry, I guide learners in reading scripture thoughtfully, analyzing themes, and applying lessons to their own lives. Through interactive lessons and discussion-based approaches, I aim to make Bible studies engaging and meaningful, helping students develop both knowledge of scripture and critical thinking skills.
English

English

I hold a PhD and MA in Comparative Literature and a BA in Psychology and German Language & Literature. I have eleven years of experience teaching college-level writing, literature, and critical reading, including seven years as an Instructor of Record and four years as a Visiting Assistant Professor. My academic background spans multiple literary traditions, genres, and time periods, allowing me to help students approach texts with confidence and depth. In my work with students, I focus on strengthening essay organization, thesis development, and analytical writing. I also place a strong emphasis on grammar, syntax, style, and overall structure to help students produce clear, polished, and academically effective work. Additionally, I support students in developing close reading skills, improving reading comprehension, and cultivating an authentic enjoyment of literature.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I help students develop clear, compelling essays at every stage of the writing process. Drawing on years of teaching undergraduate composition courses, I guide students in generating strong theses, organizing ideas effectively, and mastering a wide variety of essay types, including narrative, descriptive, persuasive, argumentative, reflective, compare-and-contrast, and expository essays. In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience as a blind peer reviewer for an undergraduate academic journal and as a published academic writer and collaborative copyeditor for a scholarly volume on international literatures. This background allows me to provide detailed, constructive feedback and help students develop both their writing skills and critical thinking. With a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature, I bring advanced training in research, analysis, and clear communication to help students confidently achieve their academic goals.
German

German

I spent four years as a Visiting Assistant Professor of German at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I have taught Elementary German courses and Intermediate-level, German-language content courses. I have also taught German courses at Binghamton University and done private tutoring of German language for an elementary-aged child for three years. I have studied abroad in Berlin and in Leipzig.
Psychology

Psychology

I hold a BA in Psychology, where my coursework included behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, research methods, developmental psychology, and abnormal psychology. I was initially admitted to a Behavioral Neuroscience PhD program before ultimately switching fields, which reflects both strong academic preparation and advanced foundational training in psychology. I have taken the GRE, including the Psychology Subject Test, and I am familiar with the exam structure, content areas, and effective study strategies. I have taught and mentored students at the college level for eleven years, with substantial experience helping learners understand complex psychological concepts, strengthen study skills, and prepare for standardized tests. My academic background, research experience, and long-term teaching practice together equip me to support students in introductory through advanced psychology courses as well as GRE Psychology Subject Test preparation.

Public Speaking

I help students build confidence and clarity in public speaking, from crafting compelling messages to delivering them with poise. Drawing on years of university teaching and extensive experience presenting at national and international conferences in both English and German, I guide learners in structuring presentations, developing persuasive arguments, and engaging diverse audiences. Whether for academic presentations, professional settings, or personal projects, I provide practical strategies and constructive feedback to help students communicate effectively and leave a strong impression.
