I hold a PhD in Organizational Leadership (Education), a master’s degree in Administration and Supervision, and certification in Special Education. For over 25 years, I have worked with middle school and high school students (grades 6–12) in public school settings, including many learners who have struggled with reading due to learning disabilities, gaps in foundational skills, executive function challenges, or years of frustration and avoidance. My experience includes whole-class instruction, targeted intervention support, and one-on-one conferencing in both in-person and online learning environments.
My tutoring is structured, explicit, and designed for adolescent readers. I begin with a brief skills check and a baseline snapshot to pinpoint what is currently most limiting their progress (word recognition/decoding, fluency, vocabulary and word parts, comprehension, or study habits that block follow-through). From there, I build a focused plan with short, high-impact routines and regular progress checks so students can see growth and stay motivated. I keep materials age-appropriate and practical, with a strong emphasis on helping students access the texts they face in their current classes.
My goal is to help students move toward their reading goals efficiently and confidently. I’m mindful that tutoring is an investment, so each session is purposeful, results-driven, and built to deliver meaningful progress without draining family resources.
