Approved Subjects

American History

American History

I have an Associates Degree; and, as a liberal arts major in college, I took several classes in U.S. as well as Native American History. As a tutor in American History, I like to look at it as helping my students understand the American meta-narrative, meaning America's big story. As with any story, there are always two sides and, when tutoring this subject, I like to take the holistic approach and explore both. I look forward to working with you!
Anatomy

Anatomy

I am an experienced tutor with formal training in anatomy and physiology - both on the high school level and in college as I was once a pre-med student before changing my major. I was also a Johns Hopkins University talent scholar and pursued by some of the world’s premiere medical colleges and universities.
Braille

Braille

I am blind. I am a graduate of the Colorado Center for the Blind (CCB) independence training program where I learned Grade 1 uncontracted Braille, Grade 2 Contracted braille and computer Braille. In the 11 years since my graduation from CCB, I have used Grade 1 and Grade 2 Braille for reading, writing, labeling, note taking, etc.
Career Development

Career Development

In my adult life, I have launched two successful careers. Beginning my professional life as an information technology professional, I have worked in many different environments as a telecom and networking consultant. After sustaining disabling injuries in a car accident, I have had the experience of re-defining myself as a professional after a life-altering event. I have also been a career trainer for adult subsidy recipients and at-risk youth in such areas as self-advocacy, interview skills, resume writing, professional ethics and so on. As such, I can walk individuals through the necessary steps of defining or, if necessary, re-defining their careers.

Phonics

As a certified early educator and experienced tutor, I not only have specific training in literacy instruction but also experience in the field helping students improve their reading and reading comprehension skills. This is mainly accomplished through phonics instruction, the teaching of critical analysis - i.e. being able to draw out the main idea of a story and the sequencing of a story - and learning to make inferences based on context. I also have experience in helping challenged learners in these areas - particularly learners struggling with autism, dyslexia and visual impairment.

Excellent tutor!

Tiffany has a unique perspective that other tutors we have worked with do not possess. My daughter is severely dyslexic & she is actually learning well for the very first time. She is in 10th grade. We wish we had found her years ago!

Knowledgeable and very patient

It was very nice to work with Tiffany. She is very patient. We went over formatting commands in Word 365 in regards to tables and templates. We also went over file saving best practices in order to preserve any master templates and specific client information. I needed to understand basics commands and will be back for more in depth questions and help with other Office 365 aspects.

Anatomy and science for Paramedic studys

I have been greatful to find a tutor to help me in the understandings of the Anatomy of the body. I have many learning challenges and have been very greatful to have found someone that truly has been making me feel like I understand the material and is giving me the skills to be successful later on if I go back to school for anything else. My girlfriend sees the changes and has seen how helpful these sessions have been and how much I have gotten out of it. She has seen me grow and seen me not struggle as much as I was. I would suggest Tiffany as a tutor because I promise you that at the end of the day you will leave knowing your information and feeling like you had gotten a lot out of the session. Tiffany is very reasonable and is always willing to work with you. She loves what she do

Very patient and very knowledgeable!

Tiffany has gone over her expected duty to help my son with his reading and comprehension. She has implemented many new strategies to his learning style and to our home to make homework time more enjoyable. I have noticed a difference after a few weeks. Thank you, Tiffany!

We saw improvement in first handwriting session! We will be continuing more sessions. She was very good with our 7 year old and with explaining her methods and observations to us.

Amazing tutor

My daughter was struggling with math greatly. She has been struggling since about 8th grade and it was really hurting her self esteem. Tiffany somehow made it all makes sense to her and we cannot begin to say how grateful we are. Sierra, was pretty picky too about who hey tutor was but Tiffany made her feel comfortable and was non-judgmental from the beginning. Sierra just passed her final test and we are sad to say goodbye to Tiffany but she will have a permanent place in our hearts and our gratitude.
