Licensed Counselor Who Loves to Teach

Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor by profession, and I love to teach students! I have worked as a TEFL-ESL instructor in Costa RIca, have taught master's level courses and most of my counseling practice involves teaching my clients. English, Spelling, Reading, Grammar and Writing are some of my favorite subjects. I am nurturing, use positive reinforcement with my clients/students and give lots of praise when it is warranted. I'm also no-nonsense when it comes to getting things accomplished. I would love to work with your children or adults as needed. You will find me easy to get along with. I believe that learning is more effective when there is humor and playfulness involved.

Did you know that young children learn a new skill with only 3-5 repetitions when practiced during play vs. adults require around 300 repetitions or more when trying to learn a new skill in serious mode. Try a new way and see how fast you can learn!! I would love to talk with you about your goals and objectives and see if we can't find a way that is successful for you. I am also a parent of two adults, 4 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, but I am young-minded and love working with kids!

I have taught TEFL-ESL English in Costa Rica for a year, and English and Grammar have always been fun subjects for me. I am very creative and as a child won my spelling bees in grammar school! I also love to nurture a child's love for learning or get them excited about learning something new so it's not so boring. My creativity helps with that.
