I attended MDC and graduated from there with an A.A. in Electrical Engineering. While I was there, I used to tutor my classmates in Algebra and Pre-Calculus. That's where I discovered that I had a talent at teaching. Now that I am at FIU, I have been an LA teaching programming I/II (Java) and programming 3 (in the C language). I enjoy teaching it, especially when I see that my students understand the difference and are able to place their skills to the test.

I don't like to give out the answer to problems. Instead, I prefer to teach the students the thinking they need to do to arrive to the answer. This is better as it will help them formulate their own answers and will help them when I am not available: such as when they are taking a midterm or a final.
Although it would be far easier to give students the answer, I prefer to go through a different approach. I like to show examples that are similar to the problems that they are going through. This allows me to walk them through, in a question-and-guidance mode, which allows me to adjust my teaching style to their needs.
If you are currently taking Programming 1/2 (in Java) and need to excel, then give me a call and let's work together to make this happen!
