Hi! My name is Maggie, and I am currently a master’s student at Colorado State University. I earned my undergraduate degree in Wildlife Conservation from Juniata College. Through my coursework and professional experience, I have developed a strong background in environmental science, animal behavior, biology, and related subjects. I also have extensive experience with—and a genuine love for—research and data analysis. I especially enjoy helping others make sense of scientific concepts that can initially feel complicated or overwhelming.
I have had the opportunity to work with students of a variety of ages and backgrounds. I volunteered as a tutor for middle school students, providing one-on-one support across multiple subjects with a focus on homework help, studying, and building stronger academic skills. I have also worked as a camp coordinator with international high school students learning English as a second language. This experience taught me how to adapt my communication to different levels of English proficiency and help students feel more comfortable and confident using English.
My teaching style is encouraging, conversational, and adaptable to each student. Whether you are looking for help understanding biology, working through a research project, analyzing data, improving your academic writing, or practicing conversational English, I am happy to meet you at your current level and work from there. I particularly enjoy combining my science background with my teaching experience, so I am also comfortable helping English learners develop the vocabulary and communication skills needed for scientific and academic settings.
