Hi! My name is Catherine and I recently graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Dance - Arts Administration. I thoroughly enjoyed my computer science classes at Butler and found myself explaining many of the topics to my peers, and I would like to continue helping students through tutoring. I recently moved to Colorado to dance with a ballet company and I am eager to continue pursuing my passion for computer science through tutoring. As a recent graduate, I believe that I can relate to many current college students who are in the same position I was in for four years.
In addition to my computer science studies, I also have internship experience working in the non-profit sector and using these skills to compile lists of potential donors for development opportunities. I enjoyed the work and impact I made on the organization, and it expanded my passion for the technology field.
Regarding my outlook on tutoring, I believe that the best way to help a student understand a topic is to break the problem into smaller pieces before looking at the greater picture. I have found success with this method in helping my peers understand challenging concepts. I also want to help students understand complex topics and feel confident going into an exam!
