I had a 4.0 unweighted GPA in high school, and tutored algebra and pre-calculus for 4 years via in-school via my school's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, which I was president of. Now, I tutor high school algebra and geometry for a non-profit organization called Mustang Math in my spare time. Thus, my teaching experience has been largely via volunteer one-on-one tutoring for middle to high school students.
I find teaching by example and application problems the most effective, but I also try my hardest to provide personalized approached dependent on the specialties of each student. Especially when teaching math, I introduce the concept and methodology first, before allowing students to try problems on their own under my guidance. I am also qualified to teach test prep via largely the same approach.
