I was a writing specialist for 2 years working with undergraduate students. I assisted students in learning how to: find their writing voice, formulate research papers, avoid plagiarism, and edit/proofread their own work. I also worked with these students on their presentation skills and helped them learn how to effectively search for and read primary sources. I also worked for 2 years as a teaching assistant for undergraduate biology and microbiology courses, where I assisted students in understanding concepts and techniques relevant to those courses.
I worked as a naturalist for a children's science center where I led ecology classes and nature tours for K-12 classes, along with creating educational content surrounding ecology for those same students.
During my undergraduate studies I participated in research that involved both field and lab work. I studied wildlife populations and ran nPCR analysis of mammalian tissue samples, with a focus on Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi).
