I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where I completed a qualitative research study and program evaluation focused on client-centered interventions. My academic background also includes a Bachelor of Science and an Associate of Science in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University–Idaho. In addition to my degrees, I have earned certificates in Child and Family Advocacy, Human Services, Advanced Marriage and Family Functioning, and Marriage, Family, and Human Relations. This education has given me a strong foundation in psychology, family systems, communication, and human development—making me highly qualified to tutor in the social sciences and related fields.
My teaching and tutoring experience spans a variety of settings and age groups. I have worked with K–12 students as a substitute teacher, following lesson plans and using behavior reinforcement techniques to support positive learning environments. In a more personalized role, I served as a Registered Behavior Technician, where I created individualized behavior plans and worked one-on-one with students to promote academic and behavioral growth. Additionally, I facilitated weekly academic and life skills sessions for adult learners through a re-entry program at Brigham Young University, supporting both in-person and virtual participants. My approach is collaborative and student-centered, focusing on building confidence and fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
Education is more than just information—it's about empowering learners to succeed on their own terms. Whether you're looking for help understanding social science concepts, strengthening study habits, or improving academic writing, I aim to provide a supportive, adaptable, and engaging tutoring experience that meets your unique needs.
