I received my Ph.D. in Latin-American Literature at the University of Maryland with a concentration in Contemporary Argentine Theatre.
While I was doing my M.A. and my Ph.D. I worked as a Teacher Assistant (TA). As a TA I taught a variety of classes including Elementary Spanish, Intermediate Spanish, Introduction to Latin-American Literature, Advanced Spanish Conversational, Composition and Grammar, Latin-American Civilization. I was selected as Course Chair where I had the opportunity to expand my responsibilities to maintain quality and consistency of instruction in multiple-section courses, coordinate and schedule regular meetings with my colleague’s TAs and provide resources to support teaching and learning for the classes. My time as Course Chair was particularly rewarding, as I had the chance to share the pedagogic techniques I had acquired in Argentina when I had studied to graduate as a Primary School Teacher.
At the same time that I complied with the requirements of the classes to obtain my M.A. and Ph.D. I worked as a Spanish teacher at The Argentine School of Washington, Potomac, Md., at The Field School, Washington, DC. and in Connelly School of the Holy Child, Potomac, Md. In all three schools I taught different levels of Spanish.
After getting my Ph.D, I sought to continue my teaching career in Montevideo, Uruguay, close to my home country, Argentina, from 2009 to 2022. Having four daughters living in the United States, one of them in Erie, Colorado, I am moving to live permanently in that area. Teaching was and still is my passion. I wish to have the opportunity to continue teaching my native language and transmit the richness of the Latin American culture.
