PhD in Biology with teaching experience at two universities

I have a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology, a MS in Biotechnology Science, and a PhD in Biology. I have over five years of experience teaching and tutoring. Currently, I am a postdoc, freelance science writer, and offer writing services on the side. I love helping students achieve their goals, and build confidence in science. I am unique because I also have real-life experience conducting research. While conducting research, I have mentored nearly twenty students. This puts my tutoring skills over the edge because I know how to effectively communicate, and meet students learning needs.

I am a great tutor because I have great communications skills. I also understand that students have different needs, and that there are different types of learners. Also, I am a science communicator and writer, I know how to tailor science so that everyone can understand it.

I have taught three writing classes, and was a managing editor for a science radio program. In addition, I am a science writer, and have written for The New York Times, various magazines, and a radio program on NPR. I know what it takes to be an effective communicator, and I love to help students improve their writing.
