Because I have been a management consultant, instructor, and business owner for more than 20 years, I view the student/teacher relationship from a coaching perspective. After taking into account your learning style, personality, and voice, I flex my methods to meet your unique needs.

I've applied my degrees in business management and accounting to the efficient and effective management of small businesses and nonprofit organizations for my entire career. A seven-year stint as the editor-in-chief of a publishing house allowed me to perfect my writing and editing skills. I also taught accounting, business management, and nonprofit management at undergraduate and graduate levels for seven years.

I focus on building organizational sustainability through effective written communication, marketing strategy, financial management, and business planning. With 20+ years of experience in all aspects of business management, I bring a well-rounded background and practical approach to the subject. I have worked in my own businesses, others' businesses, and as a business coach. My degrees are in business management and accounting. I've got the theory down, as well as the application. From strategic planning to marketing to human resources to operations and beyond, I've done it all! I can assist with business writing, managing staff, creating streamlined protocols, making sense of financial statements, getting a handle on marketing, or any other aspect of business management.

Accounting is the language of business. Once you can read financial statements, you are able to tell a fun and engaging story about that business and how it compares to others. If the math, debits and credits, ratios, or the relationship between the financial statements confuses you, I will make it all clear. You will feel empowered because you can determine how healthy a business or nonprofit organization is and make decisions about it. Do you want to buy the business, invest in it, or possibly work in it? All of these decisions are easier once you learn basic accounting.

QuickBooks makes tracking your business's income and expenses easy. I can teach you the tips and tricks and how to navigate it so that you'll feel like a pro in no time. If you'd rather just know how it works and have someone do the bulk of the data entry, I can do that, too. I've used QuickBooks for my own my clients' businesses for over a decade and love its flexibility.
