Hello! I'm Cameron. I hold a dual B.A. in Mathematics and Architecture from Yale University and an M.S. in Matter Design Computation from Cornell University. My personal interests lie at the intersection of art and technology, including projection, algorithmic art, digital music, and 3d modelling. Hello! I'm Cameron. I hold a dual B.A. in Mathematics and Architecture from Yale University and an M.S. in Matter Design Computation from Cornell University. My personal interests lie at the intersection of art and technology, including projection, algorithmic art, digital music, and 3d modelling. I hold several awards for my 3d world and sculpture designs. I'm also active in the architectural research community, a published author of technical papers and experimental software, as well as a member of ACADIA, the Association for Computer Aided Design In Architecture. Beyond the digital, I am also very much at home in maker spaces and fab labs, with plenty of experience in rapid prototyping.

I'm a tutor first and foremost out of a passion for teaching; my students will find that passion to be contagious. I am proud of my students' successes, but in addition to mere success I strive to help them find joy in learning. I want to help my students reach those "eureka" moments of clarity that give them confidence and a sense of ownership over their studies, in addition to academic accolades.

What sets me apart from other math tutors is my multidisciplinary approach to the subject. Having dual-majored in architecture and math, I've always straddled the divide between right- and left-brain thinking. I excel at teaching visual or spatial learners, as well as using analogies and tools from more tangible disciplines to help elucidate abstract concepts. I also emphasize true understanding as opposed to rote memorization. I'll work to explain every law and formula in a way that really sticks.

Experimental architecture is my chosen field and passion. I am a multiply published researcher and an experienced TA, workshop instructor, and tutor of computational design and algorithmic thinking for application to the arts and engineering. With this experience in design fields, I am adept at breaking down conceptual intent in a way that lends clarity and strengthens portfolios.

Architecture

Architecture

I graduated with my Bachelors in Architecture from Yale University and my M.S. in Matter Design Computation, a research focused degree within the architecture school at Cornell. Since then I have worked for and published with ACADIA, the Association for Computer Aided Design In Architecture. My independent body of artistic research is heavily tied to this area of expertise. I am also experienced as a Teaching Assistant, Workshop leader, and tutor in computational design.
Finite Math

Finite Math

I graduated with a bachelors in mathematics from Yale University, where my coursework emphasized discrete mathematics, algebra, and algorithms, including an elected senior seminar on the topic of networks and coursework under Dr. Daniel Spielman. I continued to take high level finite mathematics and algebra classes throughout my Masters of Science program in computational design at Cornell. I am especially passionate about applications to low-dimensional geometry and algorithms. I use these skills regularly as a generative and code artist and in my research in architectural technology.
Logic

Logic

Throughout high school and into college I have completed a number of high level courses in mathematical logic, including topics such as Set Theory, Turing machines and algorithms, and Godel's Incompleteness Theorem. Moreover, thanks to my extensive experience with proof-writing in general, I am fluent in the language of mathematical deduction and well equipped to help those who struggle with the language barrier.
