Bio

I am a doctoral candidate, and award winning and published writer, and private tutor with over ten years of tutoring experience. I specialize in helping students with writing, and have successfully helped dozens of students struggling with writing not only to succeed.

I am a doctoral candidate, and award winning and published writer, and private tutor with over ten years of tutoring experience. I specialize in helping students with writing, and have successfully helped dozens of students struggling with writing not only to succeed.

I'm also a tournament chess player. I have worked for PlayMagnusGroup, owned by five time world champion, Magnus Carlsen, and designed the curriculum used at Pals Chess Academy. My students go on to love the game at chess and succeed at local tournaments.

I believe in a twofold approach that not only emphasizes technique and style but also focuses on encouragement. At the end of the day I hope to instill in my students a true appreciation of the material that will naturally lead to greater technical understanding. A typical lesson would either involve some prepared lessons tailored to a student's needs, or working through a specific assignment the student is struggling with.

Recently I worked closely with a student struggling with virtual learning. Working together we raised his letter grades from D's and F's to A's in every subject.
