Supplemental Instructor for Statistics

I am an undergraduate student at Frontrange Community College getting my AA in psychology. I have a 3.75 grade point average and have been a statistics tutor on campus for approximately 1.5 years. I originally took the course as a student in the fall of 2017 and was asked by my professor and academic success coordinator to be a tutor for the course.

Since then every semester, including summers, I sit through the class everyday with the students then hold group and individualized sessions for students. There I create material that reinforces critical thinking and confidence in the ability to statistics. I have worked with 4 professors, all very different from lecture based class, to guided notes, to active learning. My goal as a tutor is to make you feel confident in your ability to do math and help you practice the material without getting overwhelmed and frustrated. I have had experience with students who have learning disabilities so I am very patient and understanding if that is your situation. My experience and knowledge of the course with a variety of students makes me feel more connected to the students I help and hopefully help grow their knowledge of the course and their learning ability.

To me, what makes me outstanding as a math tutor is to empathize with you and encourage you to reach your best potential. Math is not easy, but it is do-able with right states of mind and the right help. I will not only provide you with the right amount of practice I will help you see your potential and the progress you have made to give you the confidence you need to be a successful student.

I have done online tutoring as well we’re the program we used was excel so my training in that field is well enriched.
