I’m Tura—a tutor trained in Castilian Spanish with a passion for helping students build confidence, master the basics, and speak with authenticity. I focus not just on grammar drills, but on the living language: accent and phonics, conversation, fundamentals, and the integration of history and culture that make Spanish come alive. My philosophy is simple: clarify concepts, build confidence, and nurture genuine communication while tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs.

I hold a B.A. from the University of Colorado Denver and bring years of one-on-one tutoring experience with students of different ages and backgrounds. I’ve taught Spanish children English and English-speaking children and adults Spanish, giving me a strong foundation in cross-cultural and bilingual teaching.
I tutor Spanish at all levels, with emphasis on pronunciation, rhythm, and fluency. Because language is rooted in sound, I dedicate special attention to accent and phonics while also using authentic cultural materials—literature, music, film, and history—so students experience Spanish as a living tradition rather than a set of rules.
I also tutor English, supporting students in reading and writing skills from early phonics to advanced composition and creative expression. For bilingual and heritage speakers, I integrate both languages to strengthen confidence and expressive range.
Currently studying Portuguese, I bring fresh insight into the challenges of language learning and use that empathy to create supportive, engaging lessons that keep students motivated and growing.
