Hello! I am a tutor specializing in Math with a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.F.A. in Dance from New York University. I am also a dance teacher at several DPS schools, and a yoga teacher for Denver Parks and Recreation. I am an avid learner and creative spirit that provides a simultaneously enjoyable and effective tutoring experience.
I have hundreds of hours of tutoring experience for a wide range of students in both age, learning style, and ability. My experience includes tutoring on a weekly basis for numerous clients as well as working with students over a short period of time to help them get caught up. For one client I composed a two-week curriculum for a 4th grader in both Math and English. I integrated his specific interests throughout our time together which kept him engaged and in good spirits. I also grew up tutoring throughout middle school and high school, whether it was supporting student’s at my mom's K-12 school, or tutoring peers in math to help them succeed in standardized tests. These experiences have bolstered my ability to assess a student’s challenges, and rather than judge these challenges as inhibitors, recognize them as helpful information to best understand the student’s learning style.
As a dance teacher for K-8th graders, I know how to think on my feet. As a yoga teacher, I have an understanding of what the body needs in order to learn well. For instance, I often take proactive wiggle/dance breaks with younger students, and can provide breathing techniques for anxious students. As a math major, I have a wide range of mathematical knowledge including subjects such as Calculus (I,II, and III), Linear Algebra, and Probability. My depth and breadth of knowledge in both subject material and teaching approaches makes me a highly effective tutor ready to work with you or your student!

I have helped elementary students in math since I was in middle school. I ran summer school programs with my mom growing up as well as tutored one on one with some of her students. I recently created a two week curriculum for a 5th grader in math and ELA to review and prepare him for a new school year. I currently work with multiple students in elementary school and middle school in math.

Good first experience

Came prepared with test materials that were pertinent for the Regents and was patient and pleasant. First lesson so there isn't much else to say. She will continue to tutor and we will see how it goes.

We had George work with our 6th grader and 3rd grader at the end of summer to do a math review. She was just terrific. She is so likable, the kids actually looked forward to doing math with her. She is obviously knowledgeable, but moreover, she is patient and straight-forward, making her an excellent tutor for elementary school students. Highly recommended!
