I have always been curious about how the world works, and I love to bring others into that same curiosity. I work to understand different learning styles and bring in real-world examples from an area my students are interested in, and I connect concepts across disciplines: for example, I might use a biological concept to create context for a chemistry problem.

I have tutored remedial chemistry at the high school level and AP Chemistry. I have also taught AP Biology at a local high school and tutored privately. Furthermore, I did chemistry demonstrations for four years, working to distill difficult concepts into ways that an audience of varying ages could understand; I love the way that these bring the theoretical concepts to life and help students retain information.

Aside from the sciences, I have experience teaching Latin. I studied it for twelve years, eventually receiving a BA in 2012. I make drilling the grammatical concepts fun, and I connect the study to other languages, including English, German, and Spanish to help students remember vocabulary and understand the grammar. I can also guide students through the world of Latin poetry and prose, providing historical and literary context during translation. Previously, I tutored home-schooled students privately at the high school (elementary-intermediate level Latin), and have completed graduate-level courses.

For students of all ages, I bring studying out of the textbook and into the real world, and I make each lesson challenging and engaging without being overwhelming.

I have highly flexible tutoring hours and can hold sessions in-person or online for $40/hour.
