Hello, my name is Candice. I have been teaching for over 25 years. I love helping people learn. My passion is to help people understand things that they struggle with. I have helped people learn to speak English, learn to read, learn calculus, pass their ACT, or even discover their love of math and algebra. I have experience teaching all ages from pre-school to college. I love the one-on-one learning environment that tutoring allows. I also will work with small groups of students who need to learn the same thing. I am willing to help home school families and groups. I have extensive experience in most subjects. I have two master degrees in teaching. I love teaching and I am dedicated to helping students reach their fullest potential. I know what skills and strategies a student needs to use to pass the accuplacer to show they have the skills necessary for college level work. I have helped student who did not know how to read - learn to read and were successful in breaking down the questions so they could pass the accuplacer.

Having completed multiple symbolic logic courses, including an upper level as well as multiple philosophy and logic, including game theory courses I am well equipped to help students with any form of logic they may encounter. I have successfully tutored students whose textbooks, professors, and worksheets have failed, only serving to confuse the problems and overcomplicate how to solve them. Even when other tutors on Wyzant have not been able to figure out a particular teachers style of symbolic logic I have been able to parse through it with students and teach them styles that were previously foreign.

Through my decades of experience and education in Speech and Debate, coaching Mock Trial students, and theatre I am well equipped to help students with any form of public speaking. I have undergone trial by fire myself many times including participating in Debates, plays, thesis defenses, corporate presentations, and more so I also understand personally how to utilize the techniques I teach and manage anxiety. I have coached students for over a decade and every one has improved within the first few sessions when actually practicing my techniques. Anxiety is one of the main obstacles to publicly speaking, I incorporate somatic techniques that help people's nervous systems relax in addition to the typical exercises taught.
