I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Community College of Denver with over 10 years of college-level teaching experience. I’ve taught at Community College of Denver, Red Rocks Community College, and Community College of Aurora, and I also have experience as a high school teacher, Denver Math Fellow, middle school teacher, and private tutor.

I am a native speaker of the Arabic. I am also well qualified to teach the Arabic language, because of my background as a teacher. My extensive knowledge of different dialects and the official Arabic language grammar and rules is what my students notice from the first lesson. I recently tutored two students in Arabic, and both students were satisfied with my performance as a tutor and a teacher.

I come from the Mediterranean region where food tastes heavenly and is cooked with passion. Libyan food is an interesting combination of North African food with an Italian touch. I can teach you how to cook traditional authentic couscous, steamed rice with herbs, stuffed squash, (Dolma) stuffed greens, steamed rice with stew, French bread, Kebsa (rice with lamb stew), Mbatten (potato slices stuffed with ground beef), Maqroodh (sweet semolina cookies stuffed with dates), basbosa (semolina cake), and so much more.

I love crocheting. I have been crocheting since I was 12 and I specialize in doily making. Bring your hook and crochet cotton and let's make some old-fashioned doilies.

Very Professional Tutor, Extremely Flexible

I worked with Asma in 1000 level Arabic class and she was wonderful. I went from failing all my tests to getting B's and C's. She has not only helped me do my homework and review for the tests, but showed me differences between dialects, patterns within the language to help myself understand and respond better, and lastly areas where I seriously needed improvement.
