My educational background includes a Master's degree in Neurobiology from Caltech and a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Biology and Neuroscience. This strong academic foundation allows me to comfortably navigate both foundational concepts and advanced scientific principles, giving my students a comprehensive understanding of their coursework.
I bring five years of diverse tutoring experience working with high school students across various subjects in math, science, and coding. My background includes four years of private, one-on-one tutoring as well as three years of volunteering with multiple students in an after-school program setting. Over this time, I have guided students through subjects ranging from Algebra I, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus to Physical Science, Chemistry, AP Biology, and Python programming.
My approach to tutoring focuses on identifying specific knowledge gaps so that students feel truly empowered to apply their understanding to entirely new problems. Supporting students through academic hurdles and frustration is deeply rewarding to me, and I am passionate about adapting my teaching style and finding new ways to explain complex concepts based on each student's individual learning needs.
