Hi there! I am a dedicated tutor and mentor committed to helping students find clarity, confidence, and their own unique voice in their academic journeys. Over the past several years, I have worked with students aged 12 to 20 across a variety of subjects, specializing heavily in academic writing, psychology, social studies, and mathematics.

My experience spans both collaborative classroom settings and intensive, one-on-one mentorship. I spent two years tutoring a middle school math class and subsequently supported a middle school social studies class, which gave me a strong foundation in keeping younger students engaged. Additionally, I bring three years of specialized writing mentorship to my role—including two years working directly with peers at the St. Olaf College Academic Success Center. Through this work, I have guided students through everything from analytical research papers and complex psychology concepts to high-stakes college application essays.

My approach to tutoring is deeply empathetic and collaborative: I don't just talk at students; I work right alongside them as a supportive partner. I believe learning shouldn't feel like pulling teeth or forcing yourself to mindlessly answer a prompt. Instead, even in subjects that feel incredibly daunting or frustrating, my primary goal is to help students uncover and leverage their own innate strengths. Together, we will break down intimidating concepts into manageable steps, using what already clicks for you to unlock the parts that don't. Whether you are navigating high school coursework or looking to elevate your essay writing, I strive to provide a low-stress, empowering space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and equipped to succeed on your own terms.
