Hello! My name is Alex, and I am currently a sophomore at Yale University studying History and Classical Civilization. I graduated first in my class from East High School in Denver and have extensive experience in writing, humanities, languages, and analytical coursework. At Yale, I have completed advanced Latin coursework and continue to study classical languages and literature in depth. After university, I plan to attend more school (hopefully) and eventually earn a PhD in Classics. I also have experience with Spanish, history, English writing, and college essay editing. Finally, I am also familiar with standardized testing skills and questions, having scored a 35 on my ACT.
My tutoring approach focuses on patience, clarity, and helping students build confidence in their abilities, while also sharing my passion for such subjects with potential students. I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to adapt lessons to individual needs. As an avid supporter and learner of the humanities, I approach teaching with energy, seeking to instill in my students the same joy of learning about these subjects that I do, whether it is English, Latin, poetry, or anything else that might pique your interest! I look forward to hearing from you and helping you in any way that I can!
