My name is Rebecca, and I bring 24 years of experience working with students in Reading and English Language Arts.
My primary focus is supporting Kindergarten through 5th grade learners, where I’ve seen how much of a difference calm, intentional instruction can make in a child’s confidence and academic growth. Many of my students have improved their reading levels through consistent, focused support in small-group and one-on-one settings.
I specialize in helping students strengthen reading comprehension, build confidence, and improve academic performance during what is often a stressful season for both students and parents.
I am trained in the Science of Reading and hold certifications in Teaching English and Spanish to Speakers of Other Languages through the Canadian Institute of English and Applied Neuroscience. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to better support diverse learners and families.
My teaching approach is calm and structured. I guide students through thoughtful questioning and clear, relatable examples so they can move beyond simply completing work to actually understanding what they are learning—especially important for visual learners or students who need more time to process.
I’ve developed a calm learning framework designed to help students slow down, feel safe, and absorb material more deeply. My goal is not just progress in reading, but lasting confidence in learning.
