Hi! I’m a native Spanish speaker (from the Dominican Republic) with all of my primary and secondary education completed in Spanish. I’ve also studied multiple languages myself—including English, Arabic, Nepali, and French—so I understand what it’s like to learn and struggle through a new language.
I hold a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeological Studies with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. My academic and professional background has focused on communication, community engagement, and working across cultures.
I have experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) abroad, where I worked in a classroom setting with students ranging from kindergarten to high school across diverse backgrounds and language levels. I have also provided Spanish tutoring through TakeLessons and supported individuals one-on-one in improving their conversational Spanish.
My sessions are focused on helping you actually speak Spanish with confidence. I provide a relaxed, immersive experience where we practice real conversation, and I guide you with corrections, cultural nuance, and help you naturally absorb grammar and language patterns as you speak. I also have a strong understanding of grammar and can explain it clearly when needed.
Students have told me that my Spanish is clear and neutral, and that I speak at a comfortable pace that makes it easy to follow and learn. I’m also very patient and skilled at correcting mistakes in a natural, supportive way while you’re speaking.
I especially enjoy working with students who want to truly learn the language—not just pass a test. My goal is to give you the kind of real-world Spanish practice you would normally only get by living in a Spanish-speaking country.
