Hi everyone! My name is Steve, and I’m a certified math teacher with over 20 years of high school teaching experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and have dedicated my career to helping students not only understand math but also gain confidence in their abilities. I’m certified in the state of Colorado, and I’m now bringing my classroom expertise to online tutoring—creating a personalized, supportive learning experience for every student I work with.

Over the years, I’ve learned that no two students think the same way. My tutoring approach is flexible and individualized, designed to meet each learner’s unique needs and goals. During sessions, I start by identifying where a student currently stands—whether that involves addressing skill gaps, clarifying misunderstood concepts, or preparing for an upcoming test. From there, I tailor instruction to meet them right where they are. For some, that means building a topic from the ground up, step by step; for others, it might involve focused review and practice to strengthen existing knowledge. I believe in using multiple explanations, examples, and strategies until a concept truly “clicks.”

In addition to tutoring Algebra 1 & 2, Precalculus, and other math subjects, I have extensive experience with SAT preparation. Over the years, I’ve helped countless students raise their scores through small-group sessions and one-on-one instruction that emphasize both problem-solving skills and test-taking confidence. I regularly integrate SAT-style questions into lessons so students become comfortable with the format and expectations of the exam. My ultimate goal is to make math less intimidating and more rewarding—helping every student discover that success in mathematics is absolutely within reach.
