Business Professional Aiding in Standardized Testing

As far back as I can remember, education has always been at the forefront of my passions. From a personal standpoint, I always strived to excel in the classroom and that was reflected in my high school and collegiate success- I attended Indiana University on a full-ride scholarship and ultimately graduated with Honors from the Kelley School of Business. But just my personal success was not fulfilling enough and that is where I found my true passion, helping others.

Starting in high school, I helped start the ‘Pal Program’ to provide tutoring specifically to the special needs program within my high school. Motivated by my connection with my special needs next door neighbor, I started a school official mentoring club that met for two hours weekly. During these club meetings, myself and other volunteers would work directly with the students on their classwork and homework. I look back on these years as some of the most rewarding of my lifetime. The patience, empathy, and knowledge that we taught each other will always hold dearly to my heart. In college, I was elected as the Scholarship Chair for my fraternity for 3 years. In this role, I worked directly with students who were below the 2.5 GPA average needed to maintain status. I tutored them on their major-specific courses. Even if it was not my major, I always ensured I did my research/homework to be able to speak confidently and correctly on their studies.

Through Wyzant, I am looking to tutor and coach kids through the ever so frightening process that is standardized testing. I remember just how scary and confusing of a process this was when I was 16 and if I could help even one single student out, my goals would be attained.
