HI, I'm Ryne! I am an experienced, award-winning educator with a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (History of Religion in the Americas). I am available for in-person and online tutoring.

I have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina, where I took graduate courses in Anthropology and Religious Studies course deploying an anthropological framing of religion.
Bible Studies

I have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I was twice a teaching assistant for Introduction to New Testament. I have taken graduate course work on both the New Testament and the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. I also took four semesters of Koine or "common" Greek (which is the style of Greek used by the authors of the books of the New Testament) as an undergraduate at the University of Mount Olive, alongside introductory and upper-level courses on the Christian Bible.

Philosophy

I taught Introduction to Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Mount Olive. And I taught Philosophy in Literature and Film at Duke Talent Identification Program (which was a summer program for "gifted" high school age students hosted by Duke University). While completing my Master's and Doctorate in Religious Studies I took over 20 graduate credit hours in Philosophy and I worked as a research assistant for the philosopher Thomas Nail, assisting him with his book Being and Motion (Oxford Press, 2019).

Reading

As an instructor for high school and university level philosophy and religious studies courses, I helped students develop strong reading comprehension, improve their reading stamina, and build critical thinking skills.

I defended my Ph.D. in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina. I designed and taught courses and served as a Teaching Assistant in that same department.
