Hello, I'm Harper! I graduated with honors from Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado, and with a 3.7 GPA from the University of Colorado Boulder with my B.A. in Journalism, Minor in Creative Writing, and Certificate in T.A.M. (Technology, Arts, and Media).
I'm a wh300iz with pen and paper. After my day job, I'm working on publishing my first novel. Some of my favorite subjects in school were AP Literature, AP English and Journalism Ethics. I can spot a grammar mistake from a mile away, and although I work in Human Resources now and not journalism, I still use my reading and writing skills daily (Mostly reviewing job descriptions and sending emails). Regardless of the medium, it's astronomically important to be able to convey a message with purpose, power, and persuasion.
I'm passionate about student success. Although I am new to professional tutoring, I have spent over a decade teaching my younger sister, my friends and fellow classmates how to read, proofread, and write a compelling paper that will earn them an A. I have also utilized tutors in the past for any course I took in high school or college involving math or physics - I'm a firm believer that a good tutor can change everything, and propel academic and personal success. I'm friendly and empathetic. I would describe my teaching style as direct and efficient, with kindness and understanding. I will meet any student where they are at. I have worked with a dyslexic individual in the past (my old college roommate), helping her pass her college level English courses. I am open to and enjoy meeting all kinds of people. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Thanks!
