My tutoring approach involves moving beyond the oft-dry explanations of concepts given in courses and relating ideas into real world examples to help students connect their conceptual learning with familiar situations in the real world. I have been tutoring online for about a year and have found great joy when students faces light up when a concept finally clicks with them or when they tell me about their successes they have on their tests.
My work in education goes beyond tutoring - during the summer I lead exchange programs for high school students in Japan where I find great satisfaction in growing participants cultural knowledge and to watch them come into their own as more global citizens with an appreciation for the differences of people across the world and the dynamics that connect us.
